Patriots Free Agent Wish List

1. Sign Safety Ed Reed - Reed would do wonders for the Patriots Defense. He would bring this Defense together. He is a smart leader that Belichick loves. The Patriots need an upgrade at Safety next to McCourty. He could be the second coming of Rodney Harrison.

2. Resign Cornerback Aqib Talib - The Patriots Defense changed when Talib arrived in mid-season last year. He made them significantly better and is a must keep for the Patriots. His market is up in the air but if the Patriots think they won't be able to work out a deal they should franchise him.

3. Sign Wide Receiver Greg Jennings - Dwayne Bowe was the Receiver I wanted most but since he resigned with the Chiefs I'll go to my second option. I think the Patriots offense needs a change, they need to become more explosive and Jennings can provide that. If I had to choose between keeping Welker and signing Jennings, I'd pick Jennings.

4. Sign Defensive End Dwight Freeney - Freeney would be a great Defensive End opposite Chandler Jones for the next couple years. He can still get to the Quarterback. He's looking to play on a 4-3 team after his play dropped in a 3-4 last year in Indianapolis. He wants to be a pass rushing 4-3 DE and he can be that in New England.

5. Sign Wide Receiver Danny Amendola - I'm ready to move on from Wes Welker and use his money to sign a more explosive outside receiver (see #3, Jennings). But even after signing a receiver like Jennings the Patriots will still have to add a receiver to play the slot and I think Amendola fits the bill. He's previously worked with McDaniels which makes this move more likely.

6. Resign Wide Receiver Julian Edelman - Edelman is a great punt returner and a good back up receiver. He is an important piece to this Patriots team. Belichick loves Edelman and I expect him back.

7. Resign Cornerback Kyle Arrington - Arrington was good in the slot for the Patriots last season. He has been solid for the last three years in New England. You can probably get him for a good price.

8. Sign Wide Receiver Teddy Ginn Jr - Ginn is a terrific kick returner and can provide good depth at Receiver. With Jeff Demps future in question the Patriots need to bring in a player to solidify their return game.

9. Sign Defensive Tackle Desmond Bryant - Bryant's stock is dropping after his arrest last week but has that ever stopped the Patriots from picking up a guy? With his stock dropping, his price will also drop providing great value for the Patriots. He is an excellent interior pass rusher and that is a big need for the Patriots. He's be a perfect fit.

10. Sign Linebacker Kaluka Maiava - Maiava is an excellent special teams player and a good coverage linebacker which the Patriots need. He is the type of linebacker you can sub in on 3rd down to play in coverage instead of having Spikes or Hightower out there. He would definitely help the Patriots Defense on passing downs.

Patriots Mock Draft

Round 1 29. Robert Woods, WR, USC - I've been saying Woods will be this pick for weeks. It seems like the Patriots really like this kid. He is a smart receiver coming from a sophisticated offense at USC. Polished route runner with great hands. He's a playmaker and will start from day 1 with the Patriots. Round 2 59. Alex Okafor, DE, Texas - Okafor was one of the best pass rushers in college football last year recording 12.5. He is very athletic and can get after the QB but he is also solid against the run. He even moved inside and played a little DT at Texas. He is expeted to be a left DE in the NFL which would be perfect opposite Chandler Jones. Round 3 91. Tyrann Mathieu, CB/S, LSU - A lot of baggage comes with Mathieu but the Patriots seem very interested. He has met with Patriots multiple times. Belichick has no problem taking pot guys who slip. He is a playmaker on the field. He is versatile and has a swagger the Patriots Defense could use. Round 7 226. Jos...

Patriots Mock Draft

Round 1 27. WR Kendall Wright, Baylor - It was reported that the Patriots went to Baylor for a last minute Private workout with Wright earlier this week. The Patriots did the same with Nate Solder last season and made the Pick. I can see the same scenario playing out with Wright. Wright is a versatile Receiver that can add a Dimension to the Patriots Offense that they don't currently have. He can play outside or in the slot. He plays extremely fast. A potential replacement for Wes Welker? 31. OLB Courtney Upshaw, Alabama - The Pass Rushing Outside Linebacker the Patriots have been looking for, for years. Upshaw is highly Instinctive, a great competitor, and a 4 down player. He is a leader on and off the field and is a Winner. I love everything Upshaw brings to the table and would love to see the Patriots Draft him. Round 2 48 . FS Harrison Smith, Notre Dame - After players like Matt Slater and James Ihedigbo saw significant time opposite Pat Chung last year the Patrio...
