Potential Patriots First Round Picks

Here are my top 10 players I would like to see the Patriots draft with their first round pick, #29 overall.

1. Robert Woods, WR, USC - To me Woods might be the best all around WR in this Draft. He is smart, physical and fast. He is a polished route runner. He has great vision and is dynamic in open space. He has great hands and makes all the catches. He played under Lane Kiffin in a pro style offense at USC. Obviously WR is a big need for the Patriots and Woods is the player I want.

2. DeAndre Hopkins, WR, Clemson - Hopkins is a strong physical WR. He makes some tremendous catches. He was super productive at Clemson. He will be a great outside WR in this league.

3. Desmond Trufant, CB, Washington - The Patriots could obviously use some help in the secondary. I like Trufant a lot, he's a hard worker and an intense competitor. He's got football in his blood. He's an athletic and physical corner, solid all around. Really good in run support. I actually like him as much as projected top 15 pick Dee Milliner.

4. Datone Jones, DE, UCLA - Jones is a complete DE. He can stop the run and is a solid pass rusher. He is tough and has a mean streak. He is versatile and can move inside to DT as well. Great effort and work ethic. Patriots need an upgrade opposite Chandler Jones at left DE.

5. Jesse Williams, DT, Alabama - Big, Strong, and Athletic Lineman who can play both DT and DE. Williams is a nasty physical player. He is great against the run and is a decent pass rusher as well.

6. Alec Ogletree, LB, Georgia - Draft stock is slipping due to his recent DUI. Very athletic LB. He can play inside and outside. He is a good coverage LB which the Patriots could use. He will struggle against the run in the NFL, he needs to add some bulk. In my opinion he would be a steal at #29.

7. Matt Elam, S, Florida - Playmaking, hard hitting safety. Great tackler. Belichick loves Florida players and the Patriots need a long term Safety next to McCourty.

8. Xavier Rhodes, CB, Florida State - Another solid corner in this Draft. He is a physical corner but has good speed too. He has good instincts and awareness. He fits the type of defense the Patriots run.

9. Bjoern Werner, DE, Florida State - Werner's stock has dropped during the Draft process but he was a projected top 10 pick following the season. His film is impressive. He could be a steal at #29. He is a great pass rusher but needs to improve against the run.

10. DJ Hayden, CB, Houston - Hayden is rising fast. He's considered by some as the top CB in this class. He has elite speed and breaks on the ball well. Very athletic. He's dealt with some health issues with his heart in the past but seems healthy now. His potential is extremely high.

The U Scandal

Here we go again, another Major College Football Scandal and this time it's the U. Am I supposed to be surprised? First it was USC, then Ohio State, and now Miami. I think it's becoming a realization that every Big Time Program was Receiving Benifits. College Football is a cesspool for this kind of Shit. As for Miami it's self, this comes as no shock. Think about the Life Style down there, and the Players that attended the U. A lot of the Players that went to the U grew up in Less Fortunate situations and weren't going to pass up Money when giving the opportunity. Then there's the Life Style, have you ever been to Miami? When your down there you can't help but wanna Party, Drink, hit up the Strip Clubs, hang out on the Yachts, Live it up on South Beach. It's pretty obvious this Shit was going down and you know what, it's not a big deal to me. I don't blame those kids for wanting to Live it up. College Athletes should get paid anyways but we

Patriots Free Agent Wish List

Here's a list of NFL free agents I would love to see the Patriots target in free agency. This is more of a wish list than a list of realistic possibilities. I'd be happy if the Patriots signed just a few of these players.  1. Donte Whitner, S - Love me some Whitner. This Ohio State Buckeye is a hard hitting Safety who would bring instant physicality to the Patriots D. He is the perfect compliment to McCourty. He would also bring a veteran presence and leadership.  2. Eric Decker, WR - It's time to give Tom Brady a legit playmaking outside receiver. Some would argue Decker isn't even that but I'm not one of them. He is a big physical receiver who makes explosive plays down field. He would fit in perfect here and remember Josh McDaniels drafted Decker in Denver.   3. Aqib Talib, CB - This is the Patriots biggest free agent this year and they must find a way to resign him. When Talib is healthy he is a difference maker on this Defense.  4. Vonte Davis, CB - If the Patr

Stidham Time

I’m done with Cam Newton. If I’m going to be completely honest, I was done with Cam Newton after those back to back losses to Denver and San Francisco in October. But, over the next four games he was decent and the team started to win so I bit my tongue and accept him as the starting QB. But now he’s on a streak of three of the worst games I’ve ever seen a QB play and his piss poor play throughout the year has all but cost the Patriots a chance at a playoffs. Over the last three games he has posted a QB rating of 23.6, 87.4 and 53.9. In the game where he posted the 87.4, he had 69 yards passing. In those three games he had just one passing touchdown to three interceptions while completing just 56% of his passes. Long story short, he can’t throw the football.  Sure, he’s made some plays with his legs and has scored a bunch of rushing touchdowns but that’s not what you’re looking for from your QB. It’s certainly not what I’m looking for. I want a QB who can make plays with his arm. I wan
