Patriots Mock Draft

Round 1

27. WR Kendall Wright, Baylor - It was reported that the Patriots went to Baylor for a last minute Private workout with Wright earlier this week. The Patriots did the same with Nate Solder last season and made the Pick. I can see the same scenario playing out with Wright. Wright is a versatile Receiver that can add a Dimension to the Patriots Offense that they don't currently have. He can play outside or in the slot. He plays extremely fast. A potential replacement for Wes Welker?

31. OLB Courtney Upshaw, Alabama - The Pass Rushing Outside Linebacker the Patriots have been looking for, for years. Upshaw is highly Instinctive, a great competitor, and a 4 down player. He is a leader on and off the field and is a Winner. I love everything Upshaw brings to the table and would love to see the Patriots Draft him.

Round 2

48. FS Harrison Smith, Notre Dame - After players like Matt Slater and James Ihedigbo saw significant time opposite Pat Chung last year the Patriots realize it's time for an upgrade. Smith has great football IQ. He is very versatile, he can play Strong or Free Safety. He is a Play making type Safety. He is a solid leader and good teammate.

62. CB Janoris Jenkins, North Alabama - Jenkins might be the Best Pure Corner in this Draft. Jenkins is slipping due to character issues and off the field incidents. He is well worth the risk at #62. Jenkins could be the next great shutdown corner in this league if he keeps his head on straight. He is a 4 down player who can excel on Special Teams. Belichick loves Florida kids, even ones with character flaws.

Round 3

93. DE Jared Crick, Nebraska - In one of my earlier Mock Drafts I had the Patriots taking Crick in Round 1. He has always stood out to me as a Patriots type of player. He can play inside in a 4-3 but his best fit is as a 3-4 DE. He has great work ethic and tremendous intangibles. He also is great in the community which I believe is something the Kraft's look for in a player.

Round 4

126. OT Matt Reynolds, BYU - With Matt Light retiring the Patriots need to add depth behind Vollmer and Solder. Reynolds is an experienced, hard working, prideful, competitive player who would fit great in this o line group.

Patriots Mock Draft

Round 1 29. Robert Woods, WR, USC - I've been saying Woods will be this pick for weeks. It seems like the Patriots really like this kid. He is a smart receiver coming from a sophisticated offense at USC. Polished route runner with great hands. He's a playmaker and will start from day 1 with the Patriots. Round 2 59. Alex Okafor, DE, Texas - Okafor was one of the best pass rushers in college football last year recording 12.5. He is very athletic and can get after the QB but he is also solid against the run. He even moved inside and played a little DT at Texas. He is expeted to be a left DE in the NFL which would be perfect opposite Chandler Jones. Round 3 91. Tyrann Mathieu, CB/S, LSU - A lot of baggage comes with Mathieu but the Patriots seem very interested. He has met with Patriots multiple times. Belichick has no problem taking pot guys who slip. He is a playmaker on the field. He is versatile and has a swagger the Patriots Defense could use. Round 7 226. Jos...

Patriots Free Agent Targets

Here's my List of the Top 10 Players I would like to see the Patriots Target this Offseason. I am not including their own Free Agents in the List but I will tell you which of their own Players I would Like to see retained. 1. CB Cortland Finnegan, Tennessee - One of the Most Physical Defensive Backs in the NFL. It's no secret the Patriots need help in the secondary and Finnegan would be a Huge Addition. He can shutdown any teams #1 WR. In my opinion he is one of the Best CB in the NFL. 2. WR Marquise Colston, New Orleans - It's clear the Patriots need a Deep Threat at WR to open up this Offense and in my opinion Colston is the Best on the Market. He is also 6'4" and physical. An ideal WR that Tom Brady needs. 3. WR Brandon Lloyd, St. Louis - Probably the Best Fit at WR for the Patriots. Lloyd has had previous success in Josh McDaniels' system. A speedster who will help stretch the field for the Patriots Offense. 4. WR Reggie Wayne, Indianapolis - V...
