2013 NFL Draft - Top 10 Wide Receivers

One of the positions I'm focusing on most during the Draft process this year is Wide Receiver. I believe it is the New England Patriots biggest need in the Draft and I expect them to address it in early and often. I wouldn't be surprised to see the Patriots double dip at WR in this Draft. Here's a look at my Wide Receiver Rankings for the 2013 NFL Draft.

1. Tavon Austin, West Virginia - Austin is a terrific slot receiver. He's an explosive playmaker. He is not only quick but fast. Very good in space. Dangerous return man. Tough player, will take a hit. Only question mark is durability due to his size.

2. DeAndre Hopkins, Clemson - Hopkins is one of the most productive receivers in this Draft. Last season at Clemson he had 18 touchdowns and over 1,400 yards. He is a strong physical receiver. Fearless over the middle. He catches the ball well and has outstanding footwork. Hopkins has excellent awareness and runs sharp routes.

3. Robert Woods, USC - Woods is probably my favorite receiver in this Draft. He is a savvy receiver. He played in a pro style offense at USC. Very smart player. He is a polished route-runner. He's a solid blocker. Woods is an extremely hard worker and team player.

4. Cordarrelle Patterson, Tennessee - Patterson is a good player but a bit overrated. He is a big strong receiver who has good speed as well. He has good hands. His route-running needs work. He is raw but has potential. He has a good football IQ and seems focused on improving his game.

5. Keenan Allen, Cal - The first thing you have to mention with Allen is his health. He is coming off a knee injury and people wonder if he can return to form. He is a very gifted receiver. He has a great combination of size and speed. Before the injury he was a top 10 prospect, now he's slipping.

6. Stedman Bailey, West Virginia -  One of my biggest sleepers in this Draft. I believe Bailey could eventually be the best WR from this Draft. He is a natural receiver. He runs sharp routes, he's smooth catching the ball, he has great awareness. Bailey is very experienced, he was a 3 year starter. Played every receiver spot on the field.

7. Justin Hunter, Tennessee - Hunter is a tall receiver with a big catch radius. He has deceptive speed. He is your typical deep threat receiver. He has durability concerns and is considered soft by some. He isn't very physical and doesn't like to take hits. Again your typical deep threat receiver.

8. Quinton Patton, Louisiana Tech - Patton possesses an Athletic build. He is a quick receiver and runs good routes. He doesn't have breakaway speed. He tracks the ball well and makes nice catches. He is a solid blocking receiver.

9. Terrence Williams, Baylor - Williams has excellent speed. He has a long stride and accelerates well. He has good flexibility which leads to making some impressive catches down field. Not the best route-runner. Williams is a smart football player and has good leadership qualities.

10. Aaron Dobson, Marshall - Dobson is a savvy route runner. He has good speed. He had an impressive showing at Marshall's Pro Day and opened some eyes. He has small hands but still catches the ball pretty well. Better football player than athlete, which is fine in my book.

The U Scandal

Here we go again, another Major College Football Scandal and this time it's the U. Am I supposed to be surprised? First it was USC, then Ohio State, and now Miami. I think it's becoming a realization that every Big Time Program was Receiving Benifits. College Football is a cesspool for this kind of Shit. As for Miami it's self, this comes as no shock. Think about the Life Style down there, and the Players that attended the U. A lot of the Players that went to the U grew up in Less Fortunate situations and weren't going to pass up Money when giving the opportunity. Then there's the Life Style, have you ever been to Miami? When your down there you can't help but wanna Party, Drink, hit up the Strip Clubs, hang out on the Yachts, Live it up on South Beach. It's pretty obvious this Shit was going down and you know what, it's not a big deal to me. I don't blame those kids for wanting to Live it up. College Athletes should get paid anyways but we

On the Bubble

With the Patriots heading to Detroit this Saturday for their third preseason game there a few players who are in need of a big game to earn themselves a roster spot. This is one of the deepest teams the Patriots have ever had and spots are limited. Here's a list of a few guys who I think are on the bubble right now and will need to do some serious work to make this team. 1. Brandon Tate, WR: With the new Kickoff Rule in the NFL this season it seems like Brandon Tate's value to this team is way down. He was a top 5 Kick Returner in the NFL last year but this year he may not even be needed as kick returns will be limited. He is a much better Kick Returner then Wide Receiver and because he has been injured most of camp he hasn't been able to improve his Wide Receiver skills. Also the emergence of Taylor Price doesn't help either. Brandon Tate is going to have to have a couple big games, receiving not returning, to secure a spot on this team. 2. Sammy Morris, RB: I
